Project Experience

With its strong background in prototyping, Kapelan Bio-Imaging has already deployed a number of projects with tailor-made customer developments, all based on the LabImage platform. Due to the company's extensive experience with 1D gel analysis, many projects have focused on this type of analysis. Within the last ten years, the LabImage platform's 1D application has been installed more than 3000 times.

In addition, the company has also developed a number of other modules for customer-specific projects and many companies already rely on OEM solutions from Kapelan. When a customer was looking for an automated way of detecting micro blots in order to evaluate mutations, a new LabImage module for micro-blot analysis was developed. Another research institution was interested in detecting cancer cell structures using colour and morphologic parameters; in this case, a new application built on the LabImage platform helped detect and classify all cancer cells.

For another project, a workflow-guided system was established in order to control and acquire external hardware in batch mode. Other customer-specific projects have included fluorescence imaging and GxP-compliant applications.
